Accident claims life of Nancy Reynolds

A vehicle accident near Julesburg, Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 17, claimed the life of Nancy Reynolds, 66-year-old owner of Tin Can Diner of Venango.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, at 9:35 a.m., a 41-year-old female driver of a 2010 Toyota Prius pulled away from the stop sign coming off the I76 eastbound ramp at Julesburg. Reynolds, who was driving northbound on US 385 in a 1999 Buick Century, swerved to miss the Toyota and lost control. The Buick hit ice and rolled onto its top, hitting a bridge pillar.

Reynolds was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Lisa Resor, 40, of Venango, was transported to Sedgwick County Hospital with injuries. She is now home. 

Seat belts were not in use. 

The Prius was not impacted and the driver and three minor passengers suffered no injuries. 

Services for Reynolds will be Monday, Nov. 26 at the Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke, Colo., at 11 a.m. with Bullock-Long Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
