Rieken Lee, son of Cody and Brooke Lee, can’t contain his happiness as he drops his letter off at the Santa Mailbox in front of Adams Bank.

Adams Bank accepting letters for Santa

Outside the front of Adams Bank, there is a mailbox where children are able to drop off letters for Santa Claus. The best part is he writes back!

The mailbox was originally decorated in late November as part of Adams Bank’s participation in the Chamber Open House evening. However, because that event was cancelled, Adams decided to put the mailbox to use.

Children are encouraged to use the mailbox to send their letters to Santa. Adams regularly checks the mailbox to make sure they are able to get all the letters to the North Pole in time for Christmas.

Once Santa receives a child’s letter, he sends back a special postcard for the kids to keep.

The mailbox will be available up until Christmas, and it will be checked for letters on Christmas Eve.

Quite a few letters have already been received, especially over the last week. Some have even received Santa’s response already!

Tierney Petersen of Adams Bank said this is the first year they have done something like this, and she believes they will continue the activity in future years.

“I encourage everyone to have some Christmas cheer and have your kids put letters in there!” Petersen said. “It’s a fun thing to do.”
