Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will continue this year

Plans are continuing for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26 at New Life Fellowship Church.

Jim and Star Kemling feel the need to proceed with this ministry to the community, even with the current uncertain times.

With COVID-19 to content with, they will be taking extra precautions for the safety of the volunteers as well as those attending the dinner.

Use of masks, hand sanitizer and social distancing will be practiced. Limited seating will be available as they will comply with the recommended mandates as per Governor Pete Ricketts.

Curbside and home delivery will be available. For planning purposes, they would appreciate orders for curbside and home delivery prior to Thanksgiving Day, if possible.

Serving time will begin at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Kemlings ask that the community has patience with them moving forward, as they understand plans may need to be altered due to the pandemic.

Some changes are being made regarding the meal itself. All of the meal will be provided, including the dessert. They will not be accepting any food brought in from the community.

The meal will consist of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dressing, dinner roll and dessert.

Due to the extra safety measures that will be required, it is anticipated there will be a need for extra volunteers.

Please contact Jim at 289-0799 or Star at 353-0214 with any questions.

“We pray for God’s protection of safety, and that this dinner will continue to be a blessing to those who volunteer their time for those who receive a meal,” the Kemlings said.
