Meadowlark Gallery in downtown Grant will once again be open to the public starting Friday, March 3, and continuing into November.
A display celebrating Youth Art Month will open the season on Friday.
For more than 10 years the Perkins County Area Arts Council and Meadowlark Gallery has supported and emphasized the value of art and art education for children by displaying student art during Youth Art Month.
High school and junior high student art will be featured the first two weeks of March, and elementary student work the third and fourth weeks.
“Students, parents and grandparents always look forward to March and the annual youth art show,” said DeeAnn Tatum, volunteer manager. “Perkins County Schools has two exceptional art instructors, Lance Wurst and Michelle Snyder, who go the extra mile to set up their students’ work for everyone to enjoy.”
A special solo show on March 31-April 1 will feature the work of Amanda Osler, Perkins County High School graduate and student at Mid Plains Community College in North Platte.
Beginning in April, the focus in 2017 will be on quilts, with shows by local and regional quilting groups.
The gallery is open Friday and Saturday evenings from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, noon-1 p.m.
