Tailgate: Perkins County Schools Booster Club Tailgate Supper will be held Friday, Aug. 25 at Haenfler Field starting at 5:30 p.m. See ad on page 3 for more details. 

Community Barbecue: A community barbecue / block party is scheduled in Venango on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 5: 30 p.m. on the lawn of the Venango Community Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Awana Barbecue: Awana will hold their kick-off barbecue at New Life Fellowship Church on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m.  

Taxes Due: The second half of the 2016 Real Estate, Personal Property and Occupational Taxes must be paid on or before Aug. 31 to avoid interest. Call Perkins County Treasurer at 308-352-7570 with questions. 

Quilt Show: The Crazy Quilt Guild of Imperial Quilt Show and a special showing of Barn Quilts of Fillmore County is showing the month of August at the Meadowlark Gallery. Hours are 6-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and Tuesday and Thursday noon to 1 p.m.
