Cattleman’s Ball theme reflects southwest Nebraska

The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska is coming to southwest Nebraska, June 7-8, 2019, along the Frenchman Creek near Enders Reservoir.

Organizers recently released the event logo and theme, “Round Up A Cure.”

Hosts Derek and Allison Sandman of Wauneta and Wayne and Chris Krausnick of Imperial want area residents to keep the date in mind, and noted the “Ball” is not a dance and is not just for cowboys or cattle producers.

The Cattlemen’s Ball is an annual event that raises money for cancer research, for promotion of beef in a healthy diet and for promotion of “The Good Life” in rural Nebraska.

Ninety percent of all proceeds from The Cattlemen’s Ball will be given to the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha. The Center provides cutting-edge research and patient care right here in Nebraska.

The remaining 10 percent of proceeds are returned back to the local communities for support of their own health and wellness initiatives.

The “Ball” is so much more than a fundraising event for cancer, however. Attendees will be able to enjoy gourmet food, see historical demonstrations, take in Nebraska wine and craft beer tastings, participate in a fun run or a golf outing, watch the skills of cowboys at the ranch rodeo, shop at the general store, see fashion trends at the style show, witness works of Nebraska artists and more.

An event for more than 20 years, the hosts want local residents to consider being a “Calf for a Cure” sponsor, a unique fundraising program that offers donors an opportunity to virtually “purchase a calf” with a $1,000 donation.

Calves are fed and then sold at market weight prior to The Cattlemen’s Ball, with all proceeds given back to the Ball to be added with all other donations. Contributions and donations are tax deductible.

Volunteers of all talents are needed for this large event, too. For more information, visit cattlemensball.com or the Cattlemen’s Ball FaceBook page.
