Chamber meetings to resume

Fireworks show to go on

The Perkins County Chamber has been working hard on supporting the community despite not being able to have their monthly meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They just wrapped up their “Charge it to Chamber” promotion that sponsored a $200 tab at six chamber businesses for free lunches for the community.

This month however, the Chamber is excited to announce that they will finally be able to hold their meetings again, June’s will be on Thursday June 18 at noon at the Senior Center.

The business spotlight will be Adams Insurance Advisors, represented by Jeff Wallin.

The community focus will be the fair board and the 4-H council who will present information on the alternate plans for the 2020 fair.

With the current health directives in place, and the circumstances that prevented many of the activities that make the Fourth of July Celebration in the park what it is, the Perkins County Chamber Board has decided to cancel the event.

However, the fireworks show will go on as usual.

“It is still a day to honor, respect and recognize our great country and we hope that the community can find ways to celebrate and keep that patriotism alive this year, and still enjoy our fireworks show in the evening,” Vice President Samantha Goff said.

The Perkins County Chamber sponsors the fireworks show and appreciates your donations to the fund to allow it to continue.

Firework donations are being collected at Hatch’s Super Food’s, In & Out, Kwik Stop, Pinnacle Bank, The Senior Center and the Barber Pole.
