Chamber open house to bring “A Night Beyond Wonderland”

Perkins County Chamber is promoting local shopping once again with their Christmas Open House on Thursday, Nov. 15. This year’s theme is “A Night Beyond Wonderland.”

Shoppers are invited to visit several businesses in Grant, many of which will extend their normal hours to offer sales and specials to their customers.

Public transportation will be available for the evening, and arrangements can be made by calling 308-352-4597.

Santa will make an appearance, and will be bringing his sleigh and reindeer as well! Hosted by Viaero, children can see Santa’s reindeer from 4 - 7 p.m., Santa will be ready to visit with the children around 5:30 p.m. and will stay until 7 p.m.

Keegan’s ArKade will host game night this year, and have tournaments on their big screen, as well as several other fun activities and games for families to participate.

Route 61 Roller Dome will be open from 5 - 8 p.m., sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church. Admission will be two items to be donated to the food pantry.

The Perkins County Museum and Little Country Schoolhouse will be open as well, with several Christmas trees set up for guests’ viewing pleasure.

Meadowlark Gallery will be showcasing art from local artists that will include plush bears, fabric pottery, faith paintings and homemade canned good items.

The Perkins County Senior Center will be holding their annual freewill donation baked potato bar, with proceeds benefitting the center. They also plan to have several vendors.

Beginning on the evening of the open house, with every purchase made at a chamber business, shoppers will be entered in a huge drawing that will be held at Hatch’s Super Foods the first three Saturdays in December.

On Saturday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 8, there will be three drawings for a $50 chamber bucks prize and one grand prize of $250 chamber bucks.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, there will be four $50 prize winners, and one $500 prize winner.
As if that isn’t exciting enough, keep in mind that if the entrant is present at the time of the drawing, the prize money doubles!

Any purchase made at a chamber business Nov. 15 through Dec. 15 warrants an entry, and entries will continue to compile throughout the contest. So those whose names weren’t called during the first drawing will still have a chance to win in the second and third drawings.

Poppe’s Posies, Hatch’s, Kwik Stop, Ross Family Auto, Cotton Empire, Western States and Pinnacle Banks, In & Out, Adams Lumber, and Reese Appliance will also celebrate in the Open House.

See pages 6 and 7 in last week’s issue and page 3 of this week's issue of the Tribune for more details on business happenings and events for Open House.
