Community succeeds at state fair
Perkins County residents and 4Hers fared well at the 2019 Nebraska State Fair.
Laura Rice of Venango received first place in four quilt categories, including the Best in County Contest. Other firsts included art-type quilt; pieced, hand-quilted bed quilt; and hand-quilted quilt over 200 inches around.
Susan Hanson of Elsie won first in the Fauna Quilt category.
Pennie Reese of Grant received third place in applique/mixed wall quilt over 140 inches around.
Joann Schultz of Grant received fourth in machine-quilted pieced throw quilt with up to 10 fabrics.
