Cub Scouts will kick off 2019-20 next Thursday, Aug 8 at the park from 4-6:30 p.m.

Cub Scout kick-off Aug. 8

Cub Scout Pack 160 has had a full year of activities and is gearing up for the 2019-2020 season. 

The group of 11 scouts is led by Cubmaster Edward Dunn and Den Leader Nate Schwanebeck. Scouts include Grayson Baumgartner, Ben Case, Tyler Coats, Victor Dunn, Grant Gloy, Orion Knoles, Karsyn Kuper, Koltyn Kuper, Luke Minster, Mason Minster, Preston Schwanebeck and Tyson Schwanebeck. 

In addition to regular den and pack meetings, the group conducts an annual food drive to benefit the local food pantry, showcases their cars in the Pine Wood Derby, explores the outdoors during hikes and camping trips, and celebrates advancement to the next level of scouts at the Blue and Gold Banquet. 

At this year’s banquet, 11 boys advanced to the next level in Cub Scouts, with Preston Schwanebeck moving up to Boy Scouts.

 In addition, this year’s scouts traveled to Kearney for a Halloween magic show and recently returned from a camping trip at Camp Augustine. 

This year’s Cub Scout kick-off will be Thursday, Aug. 8 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the park and feature swimming and banana splits.
