Dates, theme, activities and entertainment announced for 2019 Perkins County Fair

The Perkins County Fair Board is pleased to announce several details regarding this year’s fair and the future of the fairgrounds. 

Theme

“Sew it. Grow it. Show it!” was the winning theme entry, submitted by Colton Kroeker, the fifth-grade son of Kasey and Amy Kroeker.

The fair board received over a dozen entries in the youth theme contest that were read anonymously and voted on at their last meeting on April 16.

For entering the winning theme, Colton will receive a free burger and ice cream, chamber bucks, and a special place to ride in the parade.

Dates and activities

This year’s fair will be held July 14-20 and several exciting new activities have been added, in addition to some of the more traditional favorites. 

The bounce houses and BINGO will be available, as well as a new spider climb, a rocking mechanical bull, laser tag and a rock climbing wall. 

A petting zoo will also be set up that is set to include ponies, mini horses, a mini donkey, mini pigs, dwarf and pygmy goats, chickens and rabbits. 

Dueling pianos will be present to entertain fair-goers, in addition to the big show this year, the Whiskey Bent concert, during which, a big announcement will be made, so don’t miss it! 

Improvements

The fair board has been and will continue working hard on improvements to the fairgrounds. 

Improvements will include an updated kitchen and bathrooms, updated floors, a new crow’s nest and an addition to the sale building that will serve as a new and improved hog barn.
