Deputy Kevin Klahn resigned from the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office effective June 25. He joined PCSO in August 2016.
Sheriff Jim Brueggeman reported that PCSO is currently looking to hire another deputy.
A resolution was passed in December 2016 to change the number of deputies from six to five. When Blake Smidt resigned in March, this brought the number of deputies to five, satisfying the resolution.
Brueggeman said they considered changing the resolution to bring the number of deputies to four, but have decided to leave it as is for the time being.
“We need to get someone hired and trained in the event we should have another deputy resign,” he said.
