Elsie Methodist Women continue comfort quilt project

The Elsie United Methodist Women have formed a quilting group making comfort quilt projects.

The group, led by Susan Hanson and Colleen Goings, are continuing a project started by the Wellfleet Methodist women. Elsie Methodist Pastor Tammy Aubushon previously served as pastor at the Wellfleet Church when it closed.

The Wellfleet women asked if she could find a group that would be able to use the multiple boxes of 4-inch quilt pieces they had cut to make comfort quilt projects.

The Elsie women decided to make quilts of various sizes for anyone needing a little extra comfort, care or celebration in the community, care facilities, hospitals in the nearby surrounding areas. They have gifted two quilts so far, with another in the works.

They work on the project together at the church or at home, feeling it is a good service project while being lots of fun.
