The Elsie/Madrid blood drive that was held February 14, 2020 fell short of its goal set by the American Red Cross by only 3 units. Many donors were unable to donate due to illness.

The Elsie Fire Department prepared and served lunch for all donors and Red Cross staff. Each donor received a small heart shaped cheesecake that was prepared by Christine Marie’s Cheesecakes and sponsored by Rob-See-Co to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The Nebraska Beef Council also provided Beef recipes for all donors and Red Cross staff.

Donor, Larry Biesecker, was presented a certificate and pin for reaching his 100th donation which makes him a member of the “Century Club.” He has been a loyal donor for many years and as a result of donating 100 pints of blood he has touched 300 patients’ lives.

The following volunteers donated their time and resources: Greg and Mollie Robertson, Brad and Julie Robertson, Bill Robertson, John Cutler and Chad Cutler.
