Elsie/Madrid blood drive surpasses goal
The Elsie/Madrid community blood drive held Sept. 14 surpassed its goal set by the American Red Cross.
The Elsie Altar Society provided and served lunch to the donors and Red Cross staff. Donors receiving their gallon mark pins were Larry Biesecker, 12 gallons; Michele Cutler, 11 gallons; Mary Harger, seven gallons; David Lempke, five gallons; Deb Biesecker, four gallons.
The following volunteers donated their time and resources to help make the day a great success: Jane Potts, Grace Schimonitz, Joan Craig, Carmen Pelster, Joan Harbeson, Cheri Sis, Mary Kay Callahan, John Cutler, Chad Cutler and Kyla Giesbrecht.
The next Elsie/Madrid blood drive will be held Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elsie Methodist Church.
