Engel still beating the odds 5 years following accident

After a terrible car accident nearly five years ago, Craig Engel, son of Dave “Turkey” and Lisa Engel, has beaten the odds given to him by his therapist at MaDonna Rehab in Lincoln.

A combination of hard work, prayers, determination and the help of Quality Living Incorporation, has Engel starting a new chapter in his life.

The human resource manager of Lindsay Corporation, the company Engel had been working for at the time of the accident, contacted him in the middle of May earlier this year, asking if he’d consider coming back to work welding again.

Up to this point, he had not been able to return to work there since his accident.

Apprehensive at first, Engel turned them down, and decided he would stick to his current job at Columbus Hydrolics.

He received another call a few days later, and also received reassurance from Columbus that he could return to work for them if things didn’t work out at Lindsay.

On June 18, Craig started his employment with Lindsay Corporation doing exactly what he had done for 10 years before his accident took place.

“It’s funny how I had to learn to walk, talk and eat again, but God let me remember how to weld,” Engel said.

Engel continues to exercise and attends cycle classes twice a week to improve the healing of his brain injury.

“We continue to pray for a complete healing, though we are forever grateful to the Lord, and our community for all of the prayers, fund raisers and support for Craig over the last five years,” Lisa said.
