The FARMSTAND will be having it’s GRAND OPENING on the 4th of July. The stand will be open 10 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. with a great assortments of baked goods. There will be free cookies, coffee and water available from 5-9:30 p.m. (when the firework display starts). Feel free to stop by and grab your goodies and enjoy the great view for the firework show. I am excited to announce that along with all the homemade breads and goodies, the stand will now be carrying fresh bags of Friar Franklin’s Holy Roast Coffee. All the coffee is locally roasted by Brett Franklin in small batches and will be available for cash and carry at the stand.
The FARMSTAND started as a way to provide our community with a grab and go option for all kinds of great baked goods and organic produce and eggs. Raising a family with a husband and two hungry boys, I always provided homemade meals and goodies. Baking was always my favorite as I have a terrible sweet tooth and loved baking for people to bring them a little joy. I’ve been baking for 20+ years, but really upped my ability 2 years ago when I decided to take an actual baking course with a baker from New York. I provide a variety of baked goods at the stand including my most popular Sourdough Bread which is available in many flavors and already sliced. Cookies, bars, muffins, pretzels, breads, and a growing list of baked goods are available at the stand.
Another thing that I provide at the stand is fresh, organic eggs, plants and produce. I noticed it was difficult to find organic options here in Grant so, as an avid gardener, I decided I would provide that to the people who wanted it. I maintain two large gardens. I start everything from organic seeds. All my produce is grown with organic compost from my organic chickens and companion planted with every kind of herb and flower that repel pests. This way I NEVER have to use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides, making all my produce 100% organic from the start.
My FARMSTAND will always be growing and changing what it provides depending on the season, but you can be sure that all my baked goods are made only with the best ingredients, including organic eggs and European butter and made with love. My plants and produce will always be trusted organic and grown by me.
Since summer is so busy for everyone, I don’t currently have set days that the stand is open, but come Fall, I plan to have regular hours and days for people’s convenience. But for now, you can find a sign standing at the corner of 2nd and Lincoln and a OPEN flag flying by the stand to let you know if the stand is open. I also keep people updated on my Facebook group “The FARMSTAND featuring Alison’s Pantry”. Feel free to join. I truly love our community and want to thank everyone who had supported the FARMSTAND and made this a great little addition to Grant.
