Fire north of Grainton

Elsie Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grassland fire on Monday afternoon two miles north of Grainton at Roads 351 and 761. Wallace Volunteer Fire Department was called to mutual aid. Elsie Fire Chief Chad Buresch said 1.24 acres were burned and they remained on scene for an hour. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
