Four honored at hospital gala

Saturday night was an evening of glitz and glam as four were honored at the 2017 Perkins County Health Services Foundation Gala.

Ron Patrick, who served as the foundation administrator for 23 years, was the guest of honor.

Upon receiving his award from Board Chairperson Lori Day, Patrick thanked his wife Gloria and their kids and spouses.

“They have been absolutely blessings to us, and that’s what it’s all about. Blessings.”

Patrick said his plan when he interviewed for the job was to work there for three to five years.

He said he found out early on that fundraising can actually be “fun-raising.” He explained the job description, which put simply, “is helping people find the best ways for them to give.”

“One of the most important things in life is giving,” he said.

Patrick shared stories about specific donations, saying he appreciated a five dollar donation as much as a half million dollar donation.

“Each one was giving of him or herself.”
