Grab your bicycles – BRAG is back!

Bike Ride Around Grant is back in action for the second year, and is set for Wednesday, May 19 at 6 p.m.

Passports for the event can be picked up ahead of time this year. They will be available at Pinnacle Bank starting May 17. Those who cannot pick up a passport ahead of time will receive one at the start of the ride.

The Perkins County Sheriff’s Department will handle traffic control for the evening in areas where the race path crosses the highway.

This year’s race will start at the south side of City Park, where riders can pick up their first stamp and kick off the bike ride.

From City Park, bikers will cross the highway and head to Sherman Avenue, then into Westview’s cul-de-sac for another stamp.

After Westview, riders will travel south on Sherman until 3rd Street, then left to the courthouse’s street corner where ITF will be stamping passports.

From there, the path goes past the bins on the south edge of town to Hatch’s, then to Midwest Electric for yet another stamp.

After Midwest Electric, riders will head to the elementary school for their final stamp before returning to City Park for the finish line.

Passports will be turned in for the raffle at the end of the race. Prizes include five bikes, t-shirts, greenbacks, a family pool pass donated by the City of Grant and two prizes donated by Soulful Salvage.

“Everybody is excited for this,” said Michelle Ross of Pinnacle Bank.

“Yes, it’ll be a blast!” Andrea Brueggeman agreed.

After the bike ride, prizes will be raffled, Hatch’s will provide water and granola bars and the Cemetery board will be having a root beer float fundraiser.
