Grant Volunteer Fire Department elects 2018 officers

The Grant Volunteer Fire Department (GVFD) held their annual elections on Dec. 4 to elect officers who will lead the organization in 2018.

Bryan Kroeker, a 29-year member of the department was reelected as president. 

Jason Noyes, a 10-year member, was elected to vice president. 

Matt Deaver, a four-year member, was reelected as secretary.

Robert Hochstein, a six-year member, was reelected as treasurer.

Elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors was Roger Friesen, a six-year member.

Friesen will join Chasity Knoles, a 10-year member, and Brent Deaver, a four-year member, on the board. 

Reelected as chief was Don Softley, a 40-year member of the department. Softley has served as chief for over 20 years.

Fred Reichert, an 18-year member, was reelected as assistant fire chief. 

Rick Dreiling, a 10-year member, was reelected as senior captain. 

Robert Tatum, a 21-year member, was reelected to ambulance captain.

Appointed fire captains were Kroeker and Noyes. Appointed as fire lieutenant was Hochstein. Knoles and Gerald Hostetler were appointed as ambulance lieutenants.

Members of the GVFD include: Chod Briggs, Casandra Klima, Brent Deaver, Matt Deaver, Dreiling, Robert Engel Jr., Austin Fay, Ben Francisco, Roger Friesen, Brionne Griffin, Casey Griffin, Hochstein, Hostetler, Dustin Mittan, Knoles, H. Scott Knoles, Kroeker, Brandon Lampmann, Noyes, Rick Ochsner, John Pick, Reichert, Softley, Tatum, Dwight Wiebe, Shawn Wiebe and Dalton Zimmerman.
