The Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Perkins County Health Services is observing Cardiac Rehab Week Feb. 9-15 as part of their Healthy Heart Month. This year’s theme, “New Start—Better Heart,” draws attention to the important role cardiac rehabilitation plays in reducing the potentially devastating effects of heart disease. Initiated by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the week coincides with both Valentine’s Day and American Heart Month to stress the importance of heart health. Those working hand-in-hand to help patients with cardiac rehab include, from left, Chelsea Kosmicki, exercise physiologist, Shana Kraus, registered dietician, and Kym Weiss, manager of the cardiac rehab department. They are joined by hospital CEO Neil Hilton.
