Household hazardous waste collection this Saturday

The household hazardous waste collection will be held Saturday, May 18 at the Perkins County Fairgrounds from 8-9 a.m.

The event, sponsored by the Grant Lion’s Club, is open to everyone in the area. 

Items accepted include cleaning products, lawn and garden chemicals, batteries, paint, used oil and other hazardous household items. 

Materials should be in disposable containers no larger than five gallons or 50 pounds. Containers will not be returned. 

Tires, appliances or items containing asbestos will NOT be accepted. 

The Household Hazardous Waste program personnel reserve the right to reject any materials. 

The Red Willow HHW Program is providing this free service. Support for the program is provided by Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality Waste Reduction and Recycling, Perkins County Commissioners and City of Grant.
