Keno funds denied

Grant City Council members reviewed a request for Keno funds at their regular meeting on Aug. 22. 

The Perkins County Senior Center submitted a written request for $2,000 in Keno funds back in June to offset costs of their water line project.

The senior center previously shared a water line with Frenchman Valley Coop and had to have their own line installed to accommodate a water meter. 

In their written request for the funds, they noted the project put a huge burden on them and they were searching for funds to help pay for the unexpected expense. 

Sheriff Jim Brueggeman confirmed the county paid for the project, but any income the senior center received through donations and/or grants was to be reimbursed to the county.
