Knights of Columbus bringing trivia night to Perkins County
High-Line Knights of Columbus Council 7778 will be holding a trivia night fundraising event on Friday, November 14 to benefit the Perkins County Ministerial Association. The event will be held at the Perkins County Fairgrounds.
Event organizer Bernie Deaver said the local Knights of Columbus had been looking for another project in the community and he thought the Ministerial Association was a worthy choice. The Perkins County Ministerial Association coordinates such programs in the county as the backpack program, the food pantry and the angel tree program, as well as many other needs of the community, Deaver said, adding that funds raised at trivia night will be donated to the association to be utilized as they see fit.
The Knights of Columbus settled on the trivia night event after Deaver attended two in Imperial and was impressed with the event and the community participation. Seeing no need to "recreate the wheel," Deaver reached out to the organizers of the Imperial event, the Catholic Social Services, for guidance and is modeling the Grant event after theirs.
Team registrations will start in October and will be $150 per team. There will be six people per team, and Deaver encourages teams to form now, as registration will be limited.
There will be several categories with 10 questions each covering various topics.
The teams of six will be seated at individual tables and work together to write down answers to the questions as they are asked. The answer sheets from each round will be picked up and scored throughout evening.
Trivia, food, door prizers and a silent auction promise a fun night for all.
The Perkins County Fair Board will operate a cash bar. Anyone not on a team but wanting to attend as a spectator can purchase a door ticket for $25.
