Mailbox relocation required for highway construction

As the State of Nebraska begins work on Highway 61 between Grant and the Perkins/Keith County line on Monday, May 21, mailboxes along this route must be relocated outside the limits of construction.

The temporary location needs to be first be approved by Perkins County Postmaster Laurie Fagullar.

At the conclusion of highway improvements, the Nebraska Department of Transportation will install safety mailbox supports as past of the highway project at no cost to the mailbox owner.

These supports are required to meet state and federal regulations. Any mailbox support that does not comply with the safety regulations will be removed.

For more information and relocation approval, contact Fagullar at 308-352-4409.
