Mingle, Jingle and get a photo with Kris Kringle!

The Perkins County Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5 - 8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Mingle and Jingle.”

Several businesses will be participating in the event which is held every year the Thursday before Thanksgiving to promote local holiday shopping.

Public transportation will be available for the evening, and arrangements can be made by calling 308-352-4597.

Santa will make his annual appearance, and this year, he will be bringing his sleigh and reindeer as well! Hosted by Viaero, children can see Santa’s reindeer from 4 - 7 p.m.

Santa will be ready to visit with the children around 5:30 p.m. and will stay until 7 p.m. Santa photos will be taken courtesy of the Grant Tribune.

Route 61 Roller Dome will be open from 5 - 8 p.m., sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church. Admission will be two items to be donated to the food pantry.

The Perkins County Museum and Little Country Schoolhouse will be open as well, with several themed Christmas trees set up for guests’ viewing pleasure.

The Perkins County Senior Center will be holding their annual freewill donation baked potato bar, and proceeds will benefit the center. They also plan to have several vendors, and the Thrift Shoppe will be open as well.

Beginning on the evening of the open house, with every purchase made at a chamber business, shoppers will be allowed an entry in a huge drawing that will be held at Hatch’s Super Foods the first three Saturdays in December.

On Saturday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 9, there will be three drawings for a $50 chamber bucks prize and one grand prize of $250 chamber bucks.

On Saturday, Dec. 16, there will be four $50 prize winners, and one $500 prize winner.
As if that isn’t exciting enough, keep in mind that if the winner is present at the time of the drawing, the prize money doubles!

Any purchase made at a chamber business Nov. 16 through Dec. 15 warrants an entry, and entries will continue to compile throughout the contest. So those whose names weren’t called during the first drawing will still have a chance to win in the second and third drawings.

See ads on page 10 for more information on participants in the open house and what they will be offering.
