No damage reported from July 8 tornadoes

Despite a nasty looking tornado west of Venango and another one west of Grant on July 8, no damage was reported, according to Sheriff Jim Brueggeman. He also serves as emergency manager for the county. Jeff Marquardt captured this photo on his cell phone from his farm west of Venango. He said he moved his grandkids to the basement and was just steps from safety himself had the tornado came his way. Brueggeman said a tornado was also sighted west of Grant. Fortunately, neither touched down in any inhabited areas.
