On Thursday, August 14. The “Orphan Grain Train” made a stop in Perkins County.

Perkins County Health Services gladly donated numerous supplies such as over-bed tables, a whirlpool bathtub, I.V. Stands, and more.

The biggest donation was thirty three hospital beds and mattresses. “We are really excited and happy that we could donate these supplies and that they are going to a good cause,” said Dana McCarter, head of nursing at Perkins County Health Services.

According to their website, oft.org , Orphan Grain Train is a Christian volunteer network that ships donated food, clothing, medical and other needed items to people in 73 different countries including 40 states in the USA. OGT has numerous locations around the United States, however the one that PCHS was working with last week was the location in Bellevue, Nebraska. It is the warehouse house for the organization.

Items donated by PCHS will go to orphanages, reservations, and even overseas to other countries.
