PCCFF update: PCCFF invites public to celebrate county; hear announcement

Summer is winding down, and, as always, these wonderful, warm days have sped by and we are looking at school starting up once again in just a couple of weeks.

Time slows for no one, as the old saying goes. No one knows this better than our very own Perkins County Historical Society President Brenda Styskal. Brenda, along with her board of directors, is the caretaker of the seasoned history of our beloved county.

It is always worthwhile for a person, or a community, to look back and appreciate where, and how far, they have come. With that said, it is the Perkins County Community Foundation Fund Advisory Committee’s privilege to invite you, the public, to come and hear Brenda speak about Perkins County’s history on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Grant.

The PCCFF Advisory Committee believes that our history reflects our future, and remembering those who have gone before us as we look ahead is fitting. Those who have come before us have laid a foundation that we now build on, and will continue to build on, as we all continually invest in our county through the Perkins County Community Foundation Fund.

Along with hearing Brenda speak on how far our county has come, the Perkins County Community Foundation Fund Advisory Committee will also be giving an exciting announcement to those attending. It is an announcement about a project that our committee and many in our community have been working diligently towards and now want to share with the rest of you as we look to the future.

The evening will end with the advisory committee highlighting some of the recent grants that we have awarded in the county, and top it off with cake for all, baked by our very own Lori Day of Madrid.

So, mark your calendars for Aug. 11 at 2 p.m., United Methodist Church, Grant.

There is no need for you to RSVP, just come, enjoy and help us celebrate the county that we love so much.

Those with questions about the PCCFF, those who would like to give to the fund, or those who would like to apply for a grant from the fund to benefit a project in Perkins County, can email me at beckyuehling@hotmail.com.
