PCS principals’ salaries increase by 2.35 percent

Perkins County Schools administrative salary increases of 2.35 percent were approved for the 2017-18 school year at the PCS board meeting on Feb. 13. 

Elementary Principal Nicole Long’s salary will increase from $78,500 to $80,344.75. Junior/Senior High School Principal Dean Friedel’s salary will increase from $98,728 to $101,048.11. 

Superintendent Phillip Picquet’s contract and potential salary increase was discussed and will be considered for approval at next month’s board meeting. 

2017-18 Calendar

The board reviewed and approved the 2017-18 school calendar. School will begin on Aug. 16 and dismiss at 1:30 p.m. on May 17, 2018. Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018. 

The holiday tournament will take place Dec. 21-22. School will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 for Christmas break and resume on Jan. 3, 2018.
