Pencil collection donated to museum

The Perkins County Museum is now home to an extensive pencil collection, donated by Lex Jameson of Elsie.

Jameson was born in 1925 to Robert and Ida Jameson of Elsie. He studied at Denver University earning his bachelor’s degree. He and wife, Mary Helen had three sons. 

The impressive collective was started by Jameson, an army WWII vet, in 1940. 

The collection of 16,549 pencils and pens spans all 50 states, Washington D.C., and 62 foreign countries.
