Perkins County alumni to gather this weekend

Alumni from Perkins County High School will gather this Saturday, June 16 at the high school for the annual alumni banquet.

The banquet will recognize honor classes from 1938, 1948,  1958, 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998 and 2008.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with class pictures, followed by dinner provided by the youth development club at 6:30 p.m. in Pritchett gym.

Alumni Association Treasurer Ellie McCormick said they have sold over 125 tickets for the event.

The speaker at this year’s event will be 40-year PCS teacher, Diana Tate, who retired after the 2018 school year.

Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event for individuals who wish to attend the program portion of the event only and hear Tate’s presentation.

The association has also organized a slide show for the evening featuring the members of each class.

Funds raised from the sale of banquet tickets enable the association to award a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior each year.

Other association members include Steve Bishop, president; Ashleigh Noyes, vice-president; Tanya Martens, secretary; Lindsey Perlinger and Bonnie Becker.
