Perkins County Health Services Foundation serves up appreciation — and a little friendly competition — during annual Soup Supper
The annual to-go soup appreciation supper last week at Perkins County Health Services, organized by its foundation, was a huge success, according to PCHS Foundation Administrator Lindsay Nodlinski.
The event brought foundation board members together to prepare nearly 200 soups for the staff at PCHS. Each member contributed two crockpots of soup, and the event was turned into a lighthearted contest judged by PCHS employees in timed waves beginning at 3:20 p.m.
Staff members were able to pick up meals from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the lower-level conference room. The Lion’s Club provided desserts, and volunteers Todd Kraus and Jeff Nodlinski packaged dinner rolls as employees selected their soups and sweets.
Winners in the soup competition were as follows: Chicken and Rice by Todd Kraus (Chicken-Based); Chili by Maya McQuigg; Sausage Tortellini by Jeff Nodlinski (Creamy/Other); and Taco Soup by Mollie Robertson (Beef-Based), which also earned Best Overall honors.
Helping during the evening were new foundation board members Mollie Robertson, Tom Olson, and Nick Turner. Robertson recently joined the board, beginning her term Jan. 31, 2026. Foundation Administrator Nodliniski expressed appreciation to outgoing member Cori Sis for her years of service and noted that board members Olson and Turner, who began their terms in January 2025, have been active in supporting fundraisers and employee appreciation efforts.
The Foundation has hosted several major events in recent months, including the Battle for the Paddles Pickleball Tournament, a hamburger feed, the Let’s Light the Way 5K, and the Soup Supper. Board members will meet again in March to continue planning future initiatives.
All members of the PCHS Foundation Board are as follows: Robertson, Olson, Turner, Candy Hiser-Bazan, Tony Schrotberger, Todd Kraus and Amy Johnson. PCHS Board of Directors representatives to the Foundation are Brent Gloy and Melissa Wilson.
