The storm on Saturday night blew the roofing off a 40 foot by 40 foot section of Larry and Diana Pankonin’s house. It was hung over the side of the house and in a near by tree. The forecast was for rain Sunday night. So Larry headed for North Platte to get shingles and tar paper and Diana got on Facebook, posted some pictures and here came the help!
Crystal and Kelly Sinner, LaRhonda and Jason Michael and Alicia Patrick tore into the mess and proceeded to get all the old roofing drug out into the yard. By 11:30 they had most of the mess cleaned up.
At 1:00 here came 15 young Mennonite men and their tools. Morgan Harger, John Kraus, Kim Finley and Julie Kuskie came too. The Mennonites even brought a trailer to haul off the old roofing. They tore into getting the roof shingled and had the entire roof done by 5:00.
What a blessing it was! We are so grateful for all the help and hard work they put in Larry and I would have been working on it all Summer.
It was 9 hours from devastation to done! We are ever so grateful! We are so blessed to live in such a wonderful community! Perkins County Proud!!!!
