The walls and floor of the new swimming pool are now poured. The floors all have covering on them to protect them from night-time temperatures after they were poured.

Pool project reaches milestone

Grant’s pool project crossed a major milestone last week when the final section of the floor was poured.

That means all the concrete for the pool structure itself has been poured.

Don Thiesen, superintendent for general contractor Brown Construction, said the next step will be to backfill around the pool structure.

That process began Tuesday and will continue until it’s complete. South Platte Excavating is completing that work.

Thiesen said once the back-filling is complete, installation of the drain plumbing on the outside of the pool will begin.

Doolittle Construction is heading up the work on the bath house structure that will also hold the pool’s pumps and circulation basins.

Thiesen said once the outside block walls are laid for that structure, weather concerns will not be as big of an issue.

He said there were some minor delays thus far but right now the project remains on schedule.

The target date for the pool opening is Memorial Day weekend, 2021.
