Quilt Guild sewing for a cause

The Quilted Leaf Quilt Guild of Perkins County is sewing its way into the hearts of residents at Golden Ours Convalescent Home (GOCH), Park Ridge Assisted Living and Westview Retirement Community in Grant.

The Quilt Guild, celebrating its 32nd year, is heading an on-going project creating walker bags, lap quilts and full-sized quilts for residents to enjoy.

“It’s such a great project to give back to our community,” said guild member Judy Hilferty.

Walker bags created by the guild are being donated to all three locations, while the lap quilts and full-sized quilts will go to GOCH.

The walker bags are designed to attach to resident’s walkers, allowing them a place to store multiple items such as phones, remote controls and books.
