Mrs. Western Nebraska, Adair Reese of Grant, is among 10 married women competing for the Mrs. Nebraska crown at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Omaha on April 21.

Reese works as the administrator for Perkins County Health Services Foundation. She has been married to her husband Jason for 14 years and they have two children, Ava, 12 and Alec, 10.

Her platform for Mrs. Nebraska is A.D.H.D. awareness in adults and children.

Reese said impact and growth are her reasons behind choosing to compete.

“This is a system that celebrates strong women celebrating each other. I have met some of the strongest women while competing. We come from different backgrounds and all have a mission to support the game changers! That is what each one of us is there to do, bringing awareness to all of the strong Nebraska women out there and grow awareness about what is closest to our hearts. Mrs. Nebraska is the place to do it!” said Reese.

The winner of the state competition will receive a prize package valued at over $10,000 and advance on to compete with 50 other state delegates at the national Mrs. America Pageant.

While beauty and physical fitness are key elements in the competition, Mrs. Nebraska state finalists are also urged to voice their opinions on marriage, community and important issues. Competition categories are judged on interview, 50 percent; evening gown, 25 percent; and physical fitness (swimsuit) 25 percent.

Other awards include Congeniality, Jan Wilcoxen Local Titleholder, Patty Steel Woman of Achievement, Marriage Longevity, Photogenic, Carmelita de la Guardia Performing Arts, Scrapbook, Spirit, People’s Choice, Leadership, and Entourage.
