Road work to begin east of Madrid

Weather permitting, work will begin July 10 on Nebraska Highway 23 (N-23), from reference post 28.29 to reference post 43.98, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Werner Construction, Inc., of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work includes asphalt overlay, shouldering and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Nov. 1, 2025.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
