Chris Vail, Director of Keep Keith County Beautiful said, “KKCB is pleased to have been awarded this grant for our community. We will receive a grant for the amount of $24,000 for the collection of 200 tons of tires. ”

The event is open to all Nebraska residents.

Tires must be removed from rims and commercial tires will not be accepted.

Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality Director Jim Macy announced that the state is awarding $1.71 million to support 100 tire recycling and cleanup projects across the state, of which Keith County is a recipient. The grants are part of NDEQ’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Grants program, and are funded by a $1 fee on new tires purchased in Nebraska.
