Now that there’s some snow and moisture on the ground, Galen Tickle was doing a controlled burn at his farm several miles south of Grant Monday when his loader tractor slipped over the edge of the pit as he was dumping things in. Normally, Tickle would just use the loader to maneuver his way back out. But this time, the frozen ground didn’t allow him to get any traction on the back wheels. Quick response from the Grant Volunteer Fire Department kept damage to a minimum with Tickle being able to start and run the tractor after the fire was extinguished.

Slick edge, frozen ground not so forgiving
