Solar eclipse brings thousands together

As hundreds of thousands gathered across the United States to watch history, Perkins County and surrounding areas had some of the best views in the country.

The path of totality stretched just north of Perkins County, roughly 50 miles. Arthur County provided locals and visitors from across the world a front row seat.

The Grant Volunteer Fire Department sent one ambulance, one fire truck and a command vehicle to assist Arthur County with the influx of people and vehicles.
