Submit questions for mayoral debate

The Grant Tribune-Sentinel will be hosting a mayoral debate and candidate meet-and-greet at the Perkins County fairgrounds on Wednesday, April 4 beginning at 6 p.m.

Those wishing to submit questions for the mayoral candidates to answer during the debate must submit them by mail or email to one of the following attorneys:

Tawna Holmstedt

PO Box 482

Grant, NE 69140

tawnaholmstedt@gmail.com

or

Jeffrey Armour

PO Box 148

Ogallala, NE 69153

jeff@armour.law

Holmstedt and Armour will screen the questions for legality and duplicity and submit them directly to the debate’s moderator, John Long.

In addition to the mayoral debate, Grant City Council candidates and Perkins County District 2 Commissioner candidates will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves and quickly explain their reason for running.

Candidates for other contested races, the Perkins County Hospital board and the Perkins County School board, will be recognized.

The hospital race will be decided during the primary election, but the school board race will forward to the general election in November.

A meet-and-greet will be held following the debate for the public to speak with candidates about questions, ideas or concerns they may have.

Please note that questions from the audience will not be permitted during the debate, they must be submitted to the attorneys. However, any follow-up questions may be asked during the meet-and-greet directly to the candidates.
