A special flag commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States of America made it’s way to Perkins County this week, where it made a short but memorable display. PC Veterans Service Officer Kim Dickmeyer gave the flag it’s respectful turn flying high in Perkins County at the courthouse on Tuesday afternoon before sending it off to it’s next destination, Chase County. The flag has been making it’s way around the state since May, hanging in counties such as Keith, Box Butte, Sioux, and Garden and other locations such as the Arthur Elementary School. The goal of the project is to have the flag hang in as many locations as possible for the 250 Celebration of America, said Dickmeyer.  Dickmeyer shows off the flag in front of the courthouse before raising it on Tuesday June 30.
