Tree uprooted in high winds  

Perkins County experienced high winds on Monday, Jan. 7, unofficially up to 63 mph in Elsie according to the National Weather Service in North Platte (NWS). NWS reported the nearest official wind report came from Imperial at 62 mph at 8 p.m. MT. They received unofficial reports from Grant around the same time with winds from 50-55 mph. Above, a tree in the yard of Dustin and Melissa Dolezal in Brandon was uprooted due to the high winds. Although NWS does not issue wind advisories, they stated a high wind warning was not in effect for the area.
