Vendor show to bring local shopping to fairgrounds

To the delight of area shoppers, a vendor show is coming to Perkins County this Saturday, Feb. 3. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

With over 40 vendors now officially on the list, the event will take place at the Perkins County Fairgrounds.

Organizer Lindsey Feuerborn said this event all began because she wanted to move some inventory for her own home-based business’s product, Country Chic Boutique, and get her name out there. She thought maybe she could get five or six others to join, and maybe they could have a small show at the library, she said.

So when she put the idea on Facebook, and had an overwhelming response and had 65+ vendors interested in setting up for a show, she had to rethink the location. The fairgrounds offered the perfect solution with enough space to accommodate everyone.

“I figured if we had that much interest, we might as well go big or go home, and it seemed like a good opportunity to help others. So I talked to several organizations that were trying to raise money about doing a lunch and the senior center was very excited to do that,” Feuerborn said.

The Perkins County Senior Center will be offering a lunch with choice of sloppy joe or pulled pork sandwich, potato or macaroni salad, chips, brownie and water, iced tea and coffee. Proceeds will go directly to the senior center.

Several vendors will be offering door prizes and drawings alongside their products.

Donation boxes will be available for Matt Greenwood of Grant and Brenton Wright, infant son of Doug and Sabre Wright of Imperial.

Also, part of the day will feature entertainment by Matt Chandler-Smith of Orpheus Music and Sound.

“We have over 40 vendors coming from all over Nebraska and it seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Feuerborn, who added that she is looking forward to meeting new people and that “the best case scenario would be lots of people and everyone being able to sell their products.”

“I worked pretty hard to make sure there was stuff guys would like too, it won’t just be make-up and clothes. There should be something for everyone,” Feuerborn said.
