Veteran’s Day programs set for next Thursday

This year’s Veterans Day program in Grant will return to its usual structure after regular plans were thwarted due to COVID in 2020. 

Programs are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 11 at both the elementary and Jr./Sr. high.

The elementary school will once again have a program this year at 9 a.m. 

A breakfast will be held as well for veterans and their immediate families at the elementary.

The high school’s program is set for 10:30 a.m. in the gym. Bob McCune, Air Force retiree, will be this year’s guest speaker. Pastor Kurt Hatteburg of St. Paul’s Lutheran in Venango will deliver the invocation and benediction.

Perkins County’s high school band, under the direction of Jasmine Lehl, will perform the National Anthem as well as a musical presentation.

A meal will follow the program.

The event is sponsored by the Madrid, Grant, Venango and Elsie American Legion Posts.
