Village of Elsie to elect three board members

1. What qualifications do you have that would effectively serve and benefit the Village of Elsie if you are elected to this position?

Derrick Warner: I have common knowledge on what money should be spent on, what things are worth, and how to get things done effectively without wasting money. I know how to prioritize debt. I am respectful and polite.

Tamara Cook: I have a vested interest in our town, having been born and raised here and then raising my own family here. My husband and I are also both employed through an Elsie business so the success of our town is very important to our livelihood.

Julie Robertson: Declined to participate.

Victor Perez: I’ve served on many committees and served on several boards. I am very familiar with local government. If elected I would be proactive in obtaining further knowledge to serve our community. I take these duties very seriously and I feel it is a privilege and an honor to be on a board, not an entitlement.

Write-in Candidate:

Amanda Condon: I have currently been serving on the Village of Elsie Board of Trustees since July 2020. In just this short amount of time, I feel that I have learned a lot about what being a board member means. It is so much more than just attending a monthly meeting. It means taking the time to listen to the members of this community, and working to make the community a better place to live for everyone. In only the three months so far that I have served the community, we worked on developing a budget and making decisions for the upcoming year. One of the things that I truly admire about our current board is that the residents of Elsie come first in these decisions. I feel it is important to continue making residents the priority.

In 2018, I was appointed to the TIF committee, which is designated to advise the board of trustees on where funds should be allocated for redevelopment, infrastructure, and community improvement projects. While the village has not begun allocating these funds toward specific projects yet, I can say that through working with this project, I gained a lot of insight about what residents feel is important for the future of Elsie.
