The 2026 Perkins County Fair begins Friday, July 10, with the 4-H Horse Show at 8 a.m., kicking off more than a week of exhibits, competitions and family entertainment celebrating this year’s theme, “America Grows Here – Celebrating 250 Years of American Pride.”
Following the opening horse show, fair activities resume Monday, July 13, with 4-H Static and Floral Entries accepted from 9 to 11 a.m.
Tuesday, July 14, marks the arrival of livestock as 4-H livestock check-in begins at 10 a.m., followed by the 4-H Ultrasound Contest at noon. The 4-H Dog Show starts at 1:30 p.m., the 4-H Poultry Show begins at 4 p.m., and the 4-H Rabbit/Companion Animal Show will follow immediately after the poultry show concludes.
Events continue Wednesday, July 15, with the 4-H Beef Show beginning at 8 a.m. Food vendors will also begin arriving as the fairgrounds prepare for a busy weekend of activities.
The fair moves into full swing Thursday, July 16. The Perkins County Chamber of Commerce Breakfast will be served from 6 to 8 a.m., followed by the 4-H Swine Show at 8 a.m. and the 4-H Sheep and Goat Show at 2 p.m. The kids carnival opens from 5 to 10 p.m., along with the beer garden at 5 p.m. Bingo begins at 6 p.m., while the FFA Farm Olympics and the Ranch Rodeo and Mutton Bustin’ begin that evening. Mutton Bustin’ registration opens at 5 p.m. at the main ticket booth, with the Ranch Rodeo and Mutton Bustin’ beginning at 6 p.m.
The fair continues Friday and Saturday with the 4-H Livestock Sale, Tim Zach in concert, the community parade, Perkins County Summer Jam, carnival rides, bingo and additional family activities before concluding Saturday evening.
