Wallace man arrested in Sunday stabbing

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office arrested Daniel Swanson, 34, of Wallace for allegedly stabbing another man Sunday. 

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the Lincoln County 911 Center received a report of a disturbance in Wallace.

The call reported that a male subject was stabbed by another male.  

Deputies on and off duty responded to the scene. Swanson was apprehended at his home. 

The sheriff’s office said the victim, a 36-year-old Wallace man, had fled to a neighbor’s house to call for help. 

Deputies located the victim and began to give first aid for multiple stab wounds.  

Wallace Fire and Rescue responded and the victim was air-lifted to Great Plains Health. 

The victim was later flown to Lincoln for further treatment.  

The victim’s status on Monday was rated as serious and potentially life threatening. 

Swanson faces charges of  first degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. 

Swanson is being held in the Lincoln County Detention Center.

Deputies continued the investigation by executing a search warrant of the residence. The investigation remains ongoing.
